STEP
FORWARD is an independent charity working with
children and young people aged 11-25, based in Bethnal
Green, London. The aim of STEP
FORWARD is to support and empower young people
to reach their full potential. We aim to improve the quality
of the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people
in and around Tower Hamlets. We do this by offering free,
independent and confidential
information, advice, counselling
and personal development activities.
We provide a unique range of services under one roof many
of which are not available elsewhere.
Each year STEP FORWARD
works with an average of over 1,500 young people,
offering services as diverse as counselling for sexual
abuse to working with young people to improve their ability
to manage their own finances. Our greatest concern is
that when children and young people in crisis come to
us for advice, understanding
and help, that we might not have the
resources to deal with them and they may not find courage
to seek help again.
STEP FORWARD is an
independent charity and each year we need to raise over
£270,000 just to maintain our free
and confidential services at their current levels. To
meet our goal of continuing to provide vital services
to every child or young person who needs us, we need all
the help we can get. Every penny helps.
